Most people are taught how to perform within environments. Far fewer are taught how those environments operate—or how to navigate the transitions between them.
As people move across education, athletics, work, leadership, and adult life, they encounter new expectations, relationships, systems, pressures, authority structures, and decision-making demands that are rarely taught explicitly.
Organizations can also create unnecessary navigation barriers when expectations remain unwritten, information is fragmented, decision boundaries are unclear, or systems depend on knowledge that has never been made visible.
These challenges are often treated as individual performance, motivation, or communication problems. But the real issue may exist in the interaction between the person and the environment.
